study tours abroad
Mid 2020, ten of Griffith University’s brightest and passionate students will bear witness to climate change impacts in the Arctic, documenting how melting polar ice caps lead to cataclysmic effects around the world. Our focus is not an investigation of the sciences of climate change, but rather how we can most effectively communicate its impacts. We consider the Arctic the climate change signal that is drowned out by the noise of competing politics, industry, and misinformation.

Vanuatu 2018

For two weeks in September and October 2018 I was lucky enough to join a New Colombo Plan funded Climate Change Communication Study Tour through Griffith University. I was one of 15 Griffith University communication students accompanied by three academics- Dr Kerrie Foxwell-Norton, Dr Samid Suliman and Dr Kasun Ubayasiri, and SBS Pacific correspondent Stefan Armbruster. We spent a week in Port Vila and a week on Tanna.
